What are the Codes Associated with Inspections?
That’s a pretty broad question. If we are talking about a general building question, from the ground up there are some basic inspections that all building departments check. Foundation or footing inspection, framing inspection, sometimes sheet and shear, sometimes roof framing, always rough plumbing, mechanical and electrical, insulation inspection, drywall nailing sometimes, final electrical, plumbing and mechanical and a final building inspection when everything is supposed to be complete. In some locations flooring does not have to be installed to get a final inspection. There are specialty inspections for masonry, welding, diaphragm roofs, fire sprinklers, grading, and in hillside conditions, engineering inspections. This is the overall list of inspections. I’m sure I’ve left some out, but that should give you a good idea what to expect.
